Trippin' on E...Smooth E

This luscious beverage was a treat as it slid down my palate. The decadent, chilled beverage was so yummy that an unsuspecting consumer would not guess that it was chock full of nutritious, appetizing ingredients. The agave syrup made the overall taste even more enjoyable. The juicy, fresh fruit alongside the pureed vegetables made for a tantalizingly sweet drink to join my already healthy midday snack. In summary, it was good...damn good!

Ingredients:

  • milk or (low sugar) juice
  • 1/4 yogurt (low sugar preferably) * this can be left out
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup to sweeten if necessary
Add any of the following:
·         banana
·         strawberries, frozen or fresh
·         peaches, frozen or fresh
·         mangos, frozen or fresh
·         blueberries, frozen or fresh
·         pineapple
·         apples
·         spinach, frozen or fresh
·         cauliflower, frozen or fresh
·         broccoli, frozen or fresh- chopped up into small pieces
·         carrots, frozen or fresh
·         peas, frozen or fresh
**The awesome thing about smoothies is you can add whatever you want! Just keep it healthy and tasty enough so your toddler will drink it!

Directions:
1. Pour liquid into the blender (enough to allow the fruit to blend easily)

2.  Add whatever veggies AND fruit to the blender. ***The key is you want to not go higher than halfway up a 5 cup blender or it gets too thick.

3. If needed, add ice

4. Add milk or juice if it gets too thick.

5. Add honey or agave to sweeten if necessary

6. Put blender on a high setting and let it go at it for a good minute or two. Pulse a few times to make sure it's at the "right" consistency (too your liking).

7. Serve in a toddler friendly container--preferably something with a STRAW as they a) like straws and  b) it helps with the intake of the smoothie. Do NOT put it in a sippy cup.
